Entries closing soon for Vansetter Vodka Victorian Cocktail Competition

To celebrate the release of Vansetter Vodka, west Victorian distillery Itinerant Spirits has launched the Vansetter Vodka Victorian Cocktail Competition, and entries are closing soon.

The competition celebrates the west Victorian heritage of the Vansetter Vodka brand by inviting bartenders to create a cocktail based on Vansetter, a locally distilled all-grain vodka inspired by Ballarat. The cocktail must be original and contain no more than nine ingredients, and it must be featured on your venue’s menu for a minimum of nine weeks. Vansetter encourages entrants to utilise as many west Victorian ingredients as they can.

Itinerant Spirits’ Head of Sales Brett Clarke is excited to see the cocktails that bartenders create during the competition.

“At Vansetter Vodka, we take immense pride in crafting our all-grain vodka using the exceptional wheat from the Mallee region and pristine volcanic spring water found right here in Western Victoria. This statewide cocktail competition allows us to showcase the distinct flavours and nuances imparted by these locally-sourced ingredients to mixologists and spirit enthusiasts across Victoria. We cannot wait to see what they come up with,” he said.

On 20 May, judges will begin sampling and scoring the cocktails, looking for taste, creativity, and presentation. Of the entrants, eight finalists will be chosen to attend the final showdown at the Vansetter headquarters on 17 June.

There, the finalists will be asked to showcase their skills in a live demonstration, and one bartender will walk away with the grand prize. Including distillery tours, merch, exclusive events and more, the total prize pool is valued at $5000.

Entries can be made through the Vansetter Vodka website.
