Elevate your gin and tonic this International G&T Day

Wednesday, 19 October 2022, is a big day in the drinks calendar; not only is it the day that ALIA returns after a three-year break, but it is also International G&T Day.

Earlier this year, on World Gin Day, we heard from six different distillers from around the world about how they make the perfect G&T.

Now the good folk at Bacardi-Martini Australia have shared some recipes to help you think about some ways that you can elevate your G&T – take a look.

Premier Cru Gin, Sherry & Tonic

Ingredients:


  • 25 ml Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru Murcian Lemon
  • 25 ml Fino Sherry
  • 100 ml Premium Tonic Water
  • One lemon
  • One olive

Directions:


  1. Build over cubed ice in a highball glass
  2. Garnish with a lemon zest and olive

Bramble & Sonic

Ingredients:


  • 25 ml Bombay Bramble
  • 75 ml Soda Water
  • 75 ml Tonic Water
  • Lemon wedge

Directions:


  1. Build over cubed ice in a highball glass

Green Apple & Thyme Gin & Tonic Twist

Ingredients:


  • 50 ml Bombay Sapphire Gin
  • 100 ml Premium Tonic Water (Chilled)
  • 3 Large Slices of Green Apple
  • Fresh Thyme or Lemon Thyme sprigs

Directions:


  1. Place freshly cut green apple slices and sprigs of thyme into the bottom of a balloon glass
  2. Add Bombay Sapphire and swirl, allowing the flavours to subtly infuse
  3. Fill the glass with cubed ice and top with chilled tonic water
  4. Gently stir to combine and finish with an apple slice and sprig of thyme before serving

Bombay Sunset & Tonic

Ingredients:


  • 50 ml Bombay Sapphire Sunset
  • 100 ml Premium Tonic Water
  • One Orange Wheel
  • Star Anise

Directions:


  1. Fill a copa or balloon with cubed ice
  2. Squeeze an orange wedge over the ice and discard
  3. Pour 50 ml of Bombay Sapphire Sunset
  4. Top with chilled tonic water
  5. Add your orange wheel garnish
  6. Stir and enjoy
