Gin Lane opens in Sydney’s Chippendale

Gin Lane, conceptualised by world renowned mixologist Grant Collins, has opened in the Kensington Street precinct in Sydney’s Chippendale.

With over 25 cocktails on the menu, 75 hand selected specialty gins from around the world (categorized by region) along with an extensive selection of vodka, rum, tequila and whiskey as well as wine, beer and non-alcoholic cocktails, the bar is a showcase of Collins’ passion and knowledge.

Named as one of the world’s greatest bartenders by Travel and Leisure Magazine – and having worked as a consultant for leading bars and restaurants all over the world, as well as running his own venues – Collins has drawn on his extensive knowledge of liquor, flavour pairings, lighting, music and atmosphere to deliver the Gin Lane experience.

Signature cocktails include the ‘Gunpowder Plot’ (gunpowder tea-spiked gin, Fernet Branca, gunpowder syrup, dandelion and burdoch bitters and fresh citrus, served in a smoking cloche) and the ‘Gin Riot’ (Genever, housemade spiced syrup, banana, clove vinegar, topped with wheat beer and served long topped with crushed ice, candied banana and mint).

Set in a restored 18th century terrace townhouse formerly occupied by Bar Chinois, Gin Lane, which references William Hogart’s iconic print of the same name, captures the building’s old-world charm with rich jewel tones, warm lighting and timber features.

In addition to a grazing menu designed to enhance the drinking experience, the bar will also soon play host to live music and themed ‘live art’ installations.
