Dry July? More like Rye July

The Glenmore Hotel in Sydney’s The Rocks will host its fourth annual Rye July series to celebrate all things whiskey this July.

Kicking off with a ‘Night of Whiskies’ event on Thursday 13 July, the Glenmore’s cosy middle level will be turned into a whiskey wonderland, featuring more than 15 international drops from Japan, Scotland, North America and Australia.

“This Rye July, we have secured a solid selection of rare whiskeys and we’re especially excited to showcase our Japanese range,” says Taylor Scelzi, The Glenmore’s whiskey ambassador (pictured right). The Glenmore's Taylor Scelzi

“From the first sip, it’s evident how well the Japanese have differentiated themselves from the rest of the world. Rye July is all about opening your eyes to the diversity of whiskey and discovering brands and ranges that are switching things up in the world of whiskey.”

The Night of Whiskies will also see Scelzi host a cocktail masterclass in The Glenmore’s drawing room, teaching attendees how to whip up a Boulevardier in their own kitchen.

The festivities will continue with a four-course dinner hosted by Johnnie Walker on Thursday 27 July, with Diageo’s national whisky ambassador Simon McGoram taking attendees on a whisky-fuelled culinary adventure and feast – all courses paired perfectly with Johnnie Walker tipples.

Tickets are limited and available via The Glenmore website.
