Archie Green opens in Melbourne’s CBD

Archie Green restaurant and bar is the latest venue to open in Melbourne’s CBD.

Located in Katherine Place, and described as a “love letter to all things Melbourne”, the venue’s concept combines exceptional food, inspired cocktails, thoughtful architecture, greenery and evocative street art.

Archie Green’s food offering garners much of its inspiration through the venue’s head Chef, Gomez Braham, who has had an illustrious career working in Michelin starred, three-hatted and casual restaurants around the world and in Melbourne.

Inspired by Braham’s world-wide adventures, Archie Green’s menu is anchored in seasonal and provincial ingredients and draws inspiration from Europe and Asia.

On the drinks side of the equation, Archie Green’s bar will house an expansive drinks selection that features both crowd favourites and the opportunity for patrons to dicover something new.

With the addition of Stuart Quinn (Ex Sommelier to The Atlantic) amongst the Archie Green ranks, diners can expect a boutique beverage offering, sourcing wines and spirits from unique, smaller producers.

The Archie Green cocktail list will be a collaboration between Quinn, Braham and a local food scientist, delivering surprising drinks with flavour and finesse.

“The diversity of the hospitality scene in Melbourne is so inspiring and we wondered how could we create a venue that captured that essence? Our interpretation of this was to mesh casual aesthetics with high end food, an expansive and intriguing drinks selection with down to earth service,” explained Archie Green Director Paul Hourigan.

“We wanted to create a place where people can feel at home, but also a place to explore something new and unique.

“Melbourne is a place my wife and I have chosen to call home as we love everything about the food and the cultural landscape. We look forward to sharing our vision with the rest of Melbourne and hope they fall in love with it as much as we have.”

Archie Green will operate seven days a week, open until late and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
