Four Pillars’ Sam Ng heading to Asia

Four Pillars’ 2017 Ambassador of the Year, Sammy Ng, will not defend his title in 2018 and instead take up the challenge of becoming the inaugural Four Pillars Trade Relations Manager and Ambassador in Asia from May this year.

Ng will move to the regional cocktail hub of Singapore to raise the awareness, presence and sales of Four Pillars’ range of gins as they grow in established markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The company hopes to expand its presence into Korea, Taiwan and Japan over the coming year.

Ng’s departure also opens a position with the Four Pillars team. Based in Melbourne, and spending considerable time at the distillery in Healesville, Four Pillars say that “the role exists for someone to make their own.”

“There will be lots of entertaining, educating, driving the Four Pillars bus (so please have a valid driver’s licence) and learning about the craft of distilling gin. The pay is good, the perks are great and the people are passable.”

Ng joined Four Pillars in November 2015 and in his two-and-a-half years has carved out a position as one of the most well-known ambassadors in the drinks industry.

He will be lodged permanently in Singapore from May 2018 – coinciding with Singapore Cocktail Week beginning May 3 – where Four Pillars will have a large presence with its first ‘brand pop-up’ in the region.

Applications for the position Ng is vacating close on February 28, with the appointment to be made in early April. If you’d like to apply for the job, Four Pillars are requesting you email your CV and 200 words on “why you would be the best person to follow in Sam’s footsteps and be the best booze ambassador in Australia” to jen@fourpillarsgin.com.au
