Cameron Mackenzie inducted into Gin Hall of Fame

On Friday, Cameron Mackenzie, Head Distiller and Co-Founder of Four Pillars, became the second Australian, and 20th person in history, to be inducted into the Gin Hall of Fame in London.

Four Pillars and its team also collected a number of trophies at the Gin Magazine’s World Gin Awards, with the induction into the Hall of Fame deemed the highest accolade bestowed by Gin Magazine as part of its World Gin Awards series.

As Australia’s highest selling local gin brand, accounting for 40 per cent of all Australian gin produced, the induction at the World Gin Awards comes after several prestigious awards in 2023, including Mackenzie being named Master Distiller of the Year and Four Pillars named International Gin Producer of the Year by the IWSC for a record-breaking three times.

Speaking from London, Mackenzie said: “Well this is quite something, isn’t it. I gave up my Taylor Swift tickets to make the journey to these awards so thank goodness it was worth the trip.

“In all seriousness, this is a marvelous tribute to the work of everyone who has been involved in Four Pillars across the 10 years we have been making gin. And it just goes to show that Aussie gin is now recognised clearly as amongst the best in the world.”

While in London, Four Pillars received the award for World’s Best Old Tom Gin, while its distilling and production team were awarded Production Team of the Year.

Four Pillars’ Operations Director Michelle Hall and Venue Manager Scott Gauld were also recognised at the awards for their contributions to the world-class distillery. Hall was awarded Sustainability Officer of the Year, having supported Four Pillars in becoming carbon neutral certified, while Gauld was awarded the Visitor Attraction Manager of the Year for his efforts running the Healesville distillery.
