Party for free with Bacardi

Following its huge Brisbane event, the House of Bacardi will visit Sydney and Melbourne, featuring after dark heroes including GoodGod, House of Mince, Pelvis, Daydreams and more.

With the lockouts, police crackdowns and cranky neighbours, many of Australia’s foremost curators of nightlife have also become familiar with frustration, roadblocks, and a lack of support.

In the spirit of collaboration, Bacardi is spending the summer getting behind those party throwers and fans who are both carrying and changing the cultural fabric of our cities, with the series having kicked off on October 20 at Brisbane’s Foundry, with over 1000 people through the doors in support of local curators A Love Supreme, The Creases, Bedlam Records, and VICE.

The series of free parties continues in Sydney, a scene now used to fighting for its right to party, on November 17 — featuring rooms curated by the cream of the city’s nightlife and creative scene, GoodGod, One Day, and House of Mince.

GoodGod’s tropical ‘Greenroom’ will feature Jimmy Sing, Marcus King, and Dusty Fingers; House of Mince are presenting a ‘Zeitgeist’, featuring darkness, strobes, leather, chains and techno; One Day present a late night spin on the colourful inner west day party ‘Lituation’; and VICE’s ‘Hot in Here’ room continues on to Sydney, featuring local DJs Champion Lyf.

Phile, Jayteehazard (Elefant Traks), Raph (One Day), Kato & Luen and more will also appear on the heaving lineup.

Nick Lupi of Sydney’s One Day says: “It’s no secret that it’s becoming increasing difficult to throw parties in Sydney of late. But it’s also important to remember it’s not all doom and gloom; there’s still a wealth of cool shit happening in this city. Case in point: House of Bacardi, we’re excited to be on board.”

The relationship will not just be a one night stand, Bacardi (with VICE’s inhouse agency Virtue) will continue to support these key nightlife influencers across Australia into 2017, helping them positively influence their respective nightlife scenes. On the back of the events, Bacardi will also release a three-part video series exploring the state of Australian nightlife, shining a light on what keeps the country’s key cultural curators going, and up at night.

Fraser Lockwood, Marketing Manager Bacardi says: “It’s great to get behind some of the best party throwers in each city, getting them to do what they do best and celebrate everything that’s positive about our nightlife.”

Elliot of Sydney party collective Pelvis adds: “It’s great that Bacardi are showing support for Australia’s nightlife at such a trying time, throwing a party has never been more difficult and it’s a great relief to have a bit of support in trying to make them interesting places to be beyond just hosting a big international act.”

Melbourne will host the final event of the series on 1 December, featuring rooms curated by Daydreams, Pelvis, and CRXZY SXXY CXXL; line-ups to follow.
