Eau De Vie and Star of Bombay revive the martini service

Eau De Vie in Melbourne have partnered with Star of Bombay to bring back to life the ceremonial ritual of the martini service, with the launch of an exclusively-designed martini trolley.

The iconic cocktail bar are serving re-imagined martini trolley cocktails from iconic hotel bars throughout history, created with the bespoke, theatrical style that Eau De Vie is famous for.

Cocktails from the new martini menu are created in front of guests and served directly from the Star of Bombay Martini Trolley, paying homage to the cocktail trolley service of times gone by.

They include ‘The Edwardian’, a twist on the sweet-noted Hanky Panky cocktail from the Savoy Hotel of 1930; the ‘Captain Ritz’, an adaption of the luxurious Ritz Side Car from Paris; the ‘Magda Martini’ inspired by Ian Fleming’s Bond series and the Dukes Hotel in London; and the ‘Simpson Martini’, an Eau De Vie take on the traditional dirty martini served at the Connaught Hotel in London.

Each martini champions historical ingredients but with a contemporary twist, using delicate, flavoursome liqueurs, vermouths and locally-sourced produce.

The Star of Bombay Martini Trolley will also allow guests to experiment with vermouth, bitters, brine and garnishes to come up with their own martini creation.

“Here at Eau De Vie we’re all about guest experience,” said Greg Sanderson, General Manager. “We’re really excited to partner with Star of Bombay London Dry Gin to create our Martini Trolley service which we will offer to our seated booth and table customers, through cocktail masterclasses and as part of a cocktail degustation.”

More information on the martini trolley can be found on the Eau De Vie website.
