Jono Carr joins Liquid & Larder

Following last year’s opening of popular steak restaurant and bar Bistecca, Sydney-based hospitality group Liquid & Larder has announced that Jono Carr has joined the team as Group Bar Manager.

As a member of the Wild Rover’s opening team in 2013, Carr is no stranger to Liquid & Larder, having also worked at Grandma’s – one of Sydney’s first small bars and Liquid & Larder’s first venue.

Since then, he has embarked on a bartending journey through other well-known Sydney watering holes including Archie Rose, Kittyhawk, Door Knock and Burrow Bar.

As Group Bar Manager, Jono’s primary responsibilities will be managing the beverage program, building bar teams in each venue and most importantly, working with the venue managers to ensure world class customer service.

“Customer experience is at the forefront of any good hospitality operation and as we open new venues, Jono will be integral to our goal of exceeding customer expectations”, says James Bradey, Director of Liquid & Larder.

“We love what Jono is all about. He’s a fantastic host, a brilliant bartender, a great team player and since the early days of the Wild Rover, we’ve been impressed with the meaningful rapport he builds with customers and colleagues alike. We’re thrilled to have him to rejoin our team in this group role”.

The appointment of Carr comes as the group looks to expand, with Bradey adding: “We’re keeping tight-lipped at this stage, but we’re exploring a number of opportunities and when these happen, having someone like Jono as part of our team will be a fantastic asset”.

Carr’s hire follows that of Calum Lawrie, former UK Bartender of the Year, who joined the Liquid & Larder team in late 2018 as its Events and Training Manager.
