Disaronno Day to be celebrated at bars around the world

Disaronno has rebranded Amaretto Day (Friday 19 April) to Disaronno Day – and to celebrate, is hosting what it is calling the ‘longest bar shift’ at locations around the world, from Auckland to Los Angeles.

Created by Disaronno’s The Mixing Star project, “The Longest Shift” will see bartenders and bars around the world celebrate Disaronno Day at the exact same time – 7:30pm – with an exclusive and custom Disaronno drinks list.

As part of the Disaronno Day campaign, Disaronno is also encouraging bartenders to mix the liqueur in three simple cocktails – recipes below.

Disaronno Sour

  • 1 ½ parts Disaronno
  • 1 part fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a glass filled with ice.
  2. Garnish with lemon slice.

The Sydney leg will take place at Manta Restaurant & Bar, led by bar manager Michal Horak – who has developed three unique Disaronno cocktail recipes paired with three dishes created by head chef Steve Hetherington.

Disaronno Mule

  • 2 parts Disaronno
  • 4 parts ginger beer
  • 1 part lime juice

  1. Pour ingredients in an ice filled mug and gently stir.
  2. Garnish with grated ginger.

Disaronno Fizz

  • 2 parts Disaronno
  • 4 parts soda/sparkling water
  • 1 part fresh lemon juice

  1. Pour ingredients over ice and gently stir.
  2. Garnish with lemon slice.

The event will be celebrated in every time zone in the world, kicking off in Auckland at 7.30pm NZST and running through a total of 45 cities before the last cab off the rank, Los Angeles, gets mixing at 7.30pm PDT – a total of 19 hours later.
