This Sunday 10 February, bar manager of Capitano Darren Leaney and Diageo World Class Bartender of the Year 2018 Orlando Marzo will present their take on the ultimate aperitivo hour.
‘The Journey Continues’ will run from 3-6pm at Capitano, the Carlton bar and restaurant which opened in August last year in the space that formerly housed The Beaufort.
The bespoke list of drinks has been designed especially for the Sunday afternoon occasion, so patrons can sip away without the worry of a Monday morning hangover.
Examples of the innovative, low-alc drinks that Leaney and Marzo will be mixing up include the ‘Reverse Martini’ – described as a “sensible and considered yet super herbaceous and vermouth heavy Martini’ – the ‘Cantalupo Sipper’, a non-alcoholic option using Seedlip Grove 42; and the ‘Panettone Old Fashioned’, inspired by Capitano’s tiramisu cocktail and made by infusing and clarifying milk with panettone, raisins and rum.
On the food side of the equation, a short bar snack menu from executive chef Casey Wall will also be on offer – and will include Capitano’s new Detroit-style deep dish pizza served by the square.
