Starward and SouthTrade launch bottled cocktail range

Australian distillery Starward and SouthTrade International have released the first in a planned series of 500ml bottles whisky cocktails – The (New) Old Fashioned.

The (New) Old Fashioned is ready to serve and is designed to be poured over ice and garnished with a twist of orange. The 500ml multi-serve format has been created to make the drink easy to share at social events or to be consumed over time.

Starward founder David Vitale said: “Melbourne has influenced our approach to making a modern Australian whisky in so many ways, not the least of which is our food culture. Given our home is at the heart of Melbourne, it seems obvious that we should be at the dinner table.

“Our vision with this release was to make it easy to serve, bartender made, ‘direct from the distillery’, cocktails for our friends and family before, during or after a meal.”

Fraser Lockwood, Marketing Director at SouthTrade International added: “We will continue to build on our series of bottled cocktails, launching them in the right format to suit the occasion. Each edition will offer a new and different take on classic and not so well-known cocktails.

“We feel very privileged to be working with one of the best Whisky’s in the world in Starward and with some of Melbourne’s best whisky experts in, Paul Slater (Starward Brand Ambassador) and Alex Hart (ex- Eau de Vie & Milk & Honey), to create these liquids.”

The 500ml bottle offers 10 is priced at $50 and will be available at select retailers, bars and restaurants from June 1.
