We are in the middle of Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Week and venues across Australia are marking the occasion by serving up their take on this classic cocktail.
Bars across Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney are all taking part and treating patrons to innovative, original, premium and different Old Fashioned cocktails to mark the week.
For his version Bar Manager at Bulletin Place, Evan Stroeve has a peach flavoured and bee-inspired Woodford Reserve concoction. Over at Door Knock Natalie Ng has crafted ‘The Carrot Whispers’ Old Fashioned with carrot and cardamon flavours.
Meanwhile for those who prefer a more traditional approach, there’s a nice twist on this classic by the Doss House team, as its aged Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned comes in a seasoned barrel.
The team at Woodford Reserve say their whiskey boasts a taste profile of more than 200 flavours, so from peach to carrot, honey to cardamon there is lots for you to play with. Woodford says the task for bartenders is to imagine what bourbon can be.
