Hobart’s first rooftop bar and restaurant opens this week

Hobart’s first rooftop restaurant and bar is opening this Friday, 27 November and will offer guests views of the picturesque Derwent River, kunanyi/Mount Wellington.

Part of the Kalis Group, Aura has been designed to encapsulate the stunning natural elements that surround the bar. The fun, informal but intimate environment of the bar and restaurant will also showcase local produce as well as the surroundings.

The group has also partnered with SevenRooms, a data-driven guest experience platform for the hospitality industry, enabling the venue to leverage guest data to provide personalised experiences and COVID-safe service.

Alexia Kalis, CEO of Aura, said: “Providing superior hospitality experiences that get people excited is essential to gaining customer loyalty, especially for new venues. When looking for a platform to power our guest experience, we knew SevenRooms was the partner for us; it’s range of functionality and reputation globally speaks for itself.

“SevenRooms will enable us to not only streamline our operations, but provide superior personalisation for our customers, while ensuring the health and safety of all who visit our venue.

“The experience one person has from Aura will be very different to what their neighbour or colleague might have. But both will be based on what we know they love, like their favourite drink, favourite table and favourite time to visit.

“If this year has shown us anything, it’s that we need to be doing everything we can to keep our guests happy and healthy and SevenRooms will be essential to our success.”

Through SevenRooms, Aura’s guests can expect personalised offers and experiences based on, for example, their favourite dishes, go-to drinks and dietary requirements. Health and safety measures – like QR codes, virtual waitlists and online reservations – will also be implemented to create a safe and enjoyable experience for guests.

“When Aura opens, it’ll be wowing its guests from their first interaction,” said Paul Hadida, General Manager, Australia at SevenRooms. “Through approved data, Aura will be able to provide guests with a tailored experience that puts them first – from recognising allergies or drink preferences on a return visit, to being able to automatically send a complimentary offer for their favorite dessert on their birthday.

“During this new era of hospitality, it has never been more important for operators to not only keep customers safe, but provide experiences that are unique to them.

“Through SevenRooms, Aura will be able to offer unrivalled personalisation, keep customers safe and happy, and ultimately increase revenue and repeat visits. We’re sure people will be flocking to Aura not just from across Tasmania, but nationwide, in no time.”

Aura Hobart opens on Friday and is currently offering a Festive Tasting Menu, available to book via SevenRooms.
