Recipe: Maritime Red Snapper

Holly Klintworth, the Managing Director and second-generation Head Distiller at Bass and Flinders Distillery, has always wanted to create a gin like the new Maritime Gin.

Maritime has been created by Holly to reflect the three key aspects of the distillery’s home at the Mornington Peninsula – vineyards, the ocean and the bush.

The gin features locally foraged saltbush, kelp and samphire, that bring a saltiness, vine leaves, that add a tiny bit of spice and from the bush some lemon myrtle, currant bush, wattle seed and strawberry gum.

The result is a gin that is Holly describes as “really salty and very savoury and quite citrus” and one which is “a quintessentially Australian dry gin and also really reflect our home.”
