Proof Creative’s 20 Pillar Plan to opening and launching a bar available online

Proof Creative, the bar and beverage consultancy arm of Proof & Company, has launched its 20 Pillar Plan as an invaluable online resource. Available through the Proof Creative website, the 20 Pillar Plan is designed as a holistic guide to opening and launching a bar.

Jason Williams, Creative Director of Proof & Company who heads up Proof Creative spoke about the 20 Pillar Plan in his presentation for The Bloody Big Drinks Summit. He explained the background to the plan before going on to talk in detail about several of the key pillars within the plan.

Williams told The Summit: “The 20 Pillar Plan has really worked for us and has been super-useful when working with numerous internal and external stakeholders. It’s especially useful with stakeholders that don’t come from the world of bars and are new participants in this second gold age of fine drinking.

“We have decided to publish the creative framework to the world. Why? Well we think it’s useful and it fits with our modus operandi of providing expertise and support to our partners and working in a spirit of collaboration, something we have also been renowned for. And, besides, it’s already been co-opted by some of our larger clients and peers.”

Williams added: “The 20 Pillar Plan technique won’t get a bar open for you, but it will potentially help you make better decisions, and will help breed creativity while sticking to a brief.

“Like I say to clients and collaborators, there is no scientific formula or mathematical equation to creating and launching a great bar. There is a bit of science, there is art, there are humanistic and social customs, there is some mystery and there has to be some magic. But there is no algorithm.

“This 20 Pillar approach is what we have some up with to best stay on track, avoid concept drift and create a bar concept to which you can then add some magic.”

The 20 Pillar Plan is available through Proof Creative’s website.
